The Lord is Risen... He is risen indeed!

We continue in our celebration of the 50-days of Easter.  This Thursday is Ascension Day (40-days after Easter Sunday).  The three preceding days are known as minor Rogation Days.  The Feast of St. Mark on April 25th is called "Major Rogation." These are days dedicated to prayer and fasting.  The word "Rogation" comes from the Latin rogare, which means "to ask."  In our prayers we ask for God to have mercy on all of creation.  This is also a time when we focus on being good stewards of the environment.  Lord have mercy on us!

Fr. Jim returns from Synod.

Fr. Jim and Christine were at Synod last week in MD.  Fr. Jim was re-elected to the Bishop's Council for a three-year term.  The high point of the retreat was the teaching on the Beatitudes by Bp. Ray Sutton.  The Beatitudes introduce the Sermon on the Mount in St. Matthew's Gospel (Chapter 5).  Beatitudes are blessings. Bp. Sutton described the Beatitudes  as "blessings that create a receptacle to be set apart with the Character and Person of the Living God."  The teaching relies heavily on insights from St. Gregory of Nyssa's Commentary on the Beatitudes. Bp. Sutton's teachings will be available on the Missionary Diocese of All Saints website in their entirety.  Bp. Sutton was outstanding.  Check these teachings out.  You won't be disappointed.

Anglo-Catholic † Scripturally-based † Spirit-led

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is at the center of who we are.

Christ Our Redeemer Anglican Church is a Bible-based, Anglo-Catholic Parish that continues the orthodox Anglican faith once delivered with the liturgy and traditions of the world-wide Anglican Communion. The parish is in the Missionary Diocese of All-Saints and is a member of Forward in Faith US, a group that advocates for a revival of the Anglo-Catholic emphasis of the Oxford Movement.

Our core values
